Job Summary:
The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) is a non-partisan American public policy and grantmaking institution dedicated to promoting better understanding and cooperation between North America and Europe on transatlantic and global issues.
The Washington, DC office seeks a Summer Intern to assist its HR department with a variety of tasks and projects. This internship is unpaid.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Research job posting sites and other networking channels to generate an adequate pool of candidates. Assist with posting ads on the company website and external sites. Create Employee and Recruitment files;
- Create onboarding and offboarding packets;
- Assist with FY’13 performance review process;
- Assist with organizing and filing of old HR documents (HR vendor contracts, invoices, etc);
- Assist with logistics for HR-related events/trainings; and
- Provide general administrative support and assist with special projects, as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Candidate pursuing a degree in Business, Communication, or another related field – preferably a Junior or Senior.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Experience using applicant tracking systems and performance management systems is ideal.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask.
- Demonstrated customer service skills – courteous and enthusiastic.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and emotionally intelligent.
