GMF’s Bratislava representative is Pavol Demes. Founded initially as an office in 2000 to work in the Visegrad countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary), Romania, and Bulgaria, the representation has shifted its focus further east, into the former Soviet Republics of Belarus, Moldova, and Ukraine.

The representation assists with GMF programming in CEE countries and works to support the democratic process in Central and Eastern Europe.
