GMF is currently seeking a Foreign Policy and Civil Society - Outreach intern to assist with embassy outreach and event management for the winter/spring of 2010. This unpaid internship offers an opportunity to participate in organization and program specific events that foster transatlantic relationships and understanding; network with international leaders, politicians, and scholars in a professional and academic setting; gain increased knowledge of European and North American issues, in both an intellectual and a pragmatic respect; and generate personal relationships with staff members of a leading, dynamic public policy and grant making institution. The Comparative Domestic Policy (CDP) program of the German Marshall Fund (GMF) is currently seeking a highly qualified intern to begin in March 2010. The CDP program works to build frameworks for dialogue between local- and regional-level policymakers and practitioners in the United States and Europe, primarily through the Transatlantic Cities Network (www.gmfus.org/tcn/). The CDP Intern will have the opportunity to gain an increased understanding of the policy process in a broad variety of American and European cities and regions; to network with and understand interactions between leaders in the government, business, non-profit, and philanthropic sectors; and to engage with DC’s vibrant public and foreign policy communities, in which GMF plays a leading role.
