In conjunction with the Trilateral Forum Tokyo, GMF joined the Tokyo Foundation in hosting a public symposium on "The Future of Trilateral Cooperation" on Tuesday, April 17. Panelists discussed how Japan, the United States, and Europe can remain a potent force in world affairs despite the global power shift and how these three centers of influence can cooperate to advance a stable, open, and democratic global order. Featured symposium speakers included Washington Post editorial page editor Fred Hiatt, Financial Times columnist David Pilling, German Ambassador to Japan Volker Stanzel, Japanese Foreign Ministry Ambassador for Policy Planning and International Security Policy Masafumi Ishii, and Keio University Professor of International Politics Yuichi Hosoya.
