A Look ahead to the U.S. elections: the View from Paris March 13, 2012 / Paris

On March 13, 2012, the Paris office hosted a roundtable with James Barnes, consultant for CNN and journalist for the National Journal, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Paris, to discuss the American presidential elections. James Barnes gave a very lively presentation of the state of the Republican primaries, and the discussion then focused on Barack Obama’s chances of a successful reelection bid, the anti-European bias that is sometimes perceived from a European perspective, the short-term future of Syria and the role of the U.S. in the crisis, and the possibility of a divided government.
