Border protection is not just an immigration and economic issue now, but a critical national security matter. Airports are the most essential component of border security. There are three basic principles for a successful airport security program: comprehensiveness, concentric layer approach, and risk management. The best airport security approach is one that relies on multiple detection techniques, combining technology with the human agent.
