Alexandra de Hoop Scheffer answered questions from Senators on the implications of the US strategic rebalancing towards Asia for Europe; US foreign policy in the Middle East; the place of foreign policy in the US elections campaign; NATO, smart defense and Afghanistan post-2014; and U.S. policy towards Africa and Turkey.
