GMF hosts Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss the EU, Russia, and the financial crisis April 30, 2010 / Washington, DC
On April 30, GMF's Washington, DC office hosted the Honorable Radoslaw Sikorski, Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, for a roundtable luncheon discussion. Minister Sikorski opened the discussing by remarking on the tragic plane crash near Smolensk that recently took the lives of Polish President Lech Kaczynski, his wife, and many senior government officials. He also discussed a range of issues including Poland's relationships with Russia and Ukraine; the EU and its economy; and the upcoming EU Polish presidency. The event was opened by GMF Senior Director Peter Van Praagh, and the discussion was moderated by GMF Program Officer Michal Baranowski.
