Impact of monitoring and evaluation efforts on design, implementation, and resource allocation December 02, 2008 / Berlin
From December 2-3, GMF, in coordination with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ), hosted a knowledge-sharing forum on Impact of monitoring and evaluation efforts on design, implementation, and resource allocation in Berlin, Germany. The workshop brought together representatives of foundations, academic institutions, bilateral donors and agencies, corporations, and multilateral organizations to discuss and share best practices in monitoring and evaluation efforts in private sector development projects. The conference made a contribution toward making development assistance more effective by promoting avenues for greater dialogue, coordination, and knowledge-sharing between different stakeholders. It provided an opportunity for greater self-examination to improve our development projects aimed at helping developing countries expand their own markets and compete on international ones.
For more information on measuring and reporting results in private sector development projects, please see the Donor Committee for Enterprise Development's webpage on this topic."
