India Forum IV November 11, 2011 / Stockholm, Sweden
On Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12, the German Marshall Fund hosted the fourth India Forum in Stockholm in collaboration with Sweden's Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The Forum - which convened over 90 participants from India, Europe, and the United States, as well as other countries such as Japan, Australia, and Israel - featured informal policy-relevant discussions on a wide range of issues, including the challenges to democratic governance, recent developments in Afghanistan, the rise of China, resource competition, migration policies, engagement with Pakistan, and defense commerce. Highlights included conversations featuring Carl Bildt, Sweden's Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Tobias Billstrom, Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy.
India Forum convenes policymakers, scholars, journalists, and businesspeople from India and the transatlantic community twice a year to discuss shared challenges, build networks, and facilitate cooperation and coordination.
