On January 24, 2008, Kurt Volker, the U.S. deputy assistant secretary for European and Eurasian affairs, spoke at a seminar on energy transformation held by the German Marshall Fund of the United States in cooperation with Ecologic. Washington, DC, plays host to the first stop in this three-part seminar, with the other two meetings taking place in Berlin and Brussels later this year. In his remarks, Volker explains America's thinking with regard to greenhouse gas reduction and their effort to break the link between global wealth and global warming.
