Marshall Memorial Fellowship alumni and friends of the program gathered in Washington, DC to welcome three new Fellows into the local network.

Hosted at the home of Mr. George Walker (MMF 2010), vice president of leadership initiatives for the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund and Leadership Institute, the event honored Mr. Ajit Pai, special advisor to the general counsel at the Federal Communications Commission; Captain Jeremiah Sanders, U.S. Air Force; and Mr. Ron Schuster, legislative counsel for the U.S. Coast Guard.  All three will travel to Europe in 2011 on the Marshall Memorial Fellowship program, GMF's flagship leadership development initiative for young transatlantic leaders.

Also in attendance were Mr. Giuseppe Battaglia (MMF 2008), deputy defense attaché at the Embassy of Italy; Ms. Claire Carlin (MMF 2008), program director for ecoAmerica; Ms. Lisa Epifani (MMF 2009), of counsel at Van Ness Feldman;  Mr. Neil Peretz (MMF 2003), commercial litigation trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice; and Mr. Price Roe (MMF 2008), vice president of strategic consulting for Digital Management.

With over 70 alumni, the Marshall Memorial Fellowship network in DC is the largest in the United States.  In 2009, DC-based alumni hosted the Marshall Forum on Transatlantic Affairs, the annual conference for alumni of GMF's leadership development programs.
