Post-Crisis Global Challenges Event Series: China’s Role in the Post-Crisis Global Economy December 02, 2009 / Brussels, Belgium

On December 2, GMF presented the second part of the Post-Crisis Global Challenges Event Series in Brussels. The lunch discussion "China's Role in the Post-Crisis Global Economy", was  the second in a series of four events dedicated to the promotion of a broader understanding of key global challenges arising from the global financial crisis, organized with the generous support of the U.S. mission.

The lunch discussion featured presentations by Joseph Quinlan, Transatlantic Fellow for GMF's Economic Policy Program, and Song Xinning, United Nations University (UNU-CRIS) Senior Research Fellow, who both gave their outlook on the impact the crisis has had on China and what this means for China's future regional and global role. The event was moderated by GMF Fellow Andrew Small and was concluded with a discussion between the very involved audience and the two panelists.

The first event of this series featured GMF Transatlantic Fellow Kati Suominen's presentation on Post-Crisis Challenges to the Global Financial System. Future events of this series will focus on the impact of the crisis on Central and Eastern European economies as well as the small and vulnerable economies of the global ‘South'.The event series is organized with generous support from the US Mission to the EU.
