The Eurocrisis in 2020 February 16, 2012 / Paris



On February 16, 2012, the Paris office launched the first European seminar of the GMF EuroFuture Project, “The Eurocrisis in 2020”, in partnership with the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA) in Paris.

The session began with a lunch where former French Minister of Defense Alain Richard, GMF President Craig Kennedy and GMF Senior Transatlantic Fellow Kristen Silverberg debated the implications of the crisis on transatlantic relations with emphasis on the strategic implications of the crisis and the impact of the defense budget reductions on the United States’ and Europe’s influence in the world.

The lunch was followed by three panels chaired by GMF Resident Fellow Thomas Kleine-Brockhoff, GMF Senior Fellow Bruce Stokes and Maxime Lefebvre, head of the Department for International Relations at the ENA, on strategic, economic, and European-French governance issues.
