The United States, Turkey and the Arab Spring April 11, 2012 / Paris



On April 11, 2012, the Paris office, in partnership with the Center for International Research and Studies (CERI) – Sciences Po and the United States Embassy, organized a conference titled “The United States, Turkey and the Arab Spring”. GMF Brussels Executive Office Director Ian Lesser was the main speaker and the conference was chaired by Riva Kastoryano, senior research fellow at CNRS/SciencesPo-CERI, and introduced by Ewa Kulesza, executive director of SciencesPo-CERI and GMF Paris Office Director Alexandra de Hoop Scheffer. Topics discussed included the evolution of Turkish domestic and foreign policies, especially in the Middle East and the U.S. response as well as the U.S.'s relations with Turkey. The event gathered a high-level audience of around 80 French and international academics, diplomats and experts.
