Transatlantic Forum on Migration and Integration – Trivandrum, India October 17, 2011 / Trivandrum, India



The fourth Transatlantic Forum on Migration and Integration (TFMI) was held from October 17-21 in Trivandrum, India. Established in 2008, the annual conference organized by the German Marshall Fund and the Robert Bosch Stiftung has served as the basis for a sustainable network of young leaders in the field of migration and intergration, with year-round spin-off projects - including study tours, regional meetings, and academic and professional exchanges - taking place all over the world.

View 2011 TFMI Agenda

TFMI 2011 will convene future decision-makers on crucial immigration and integration issues from business, government, the media, academia and the nonprofit sector. Participating fellows come from both sides of the Atlantic, as well as from both sending and receiving countries, including Morocco, Turkey, Mexico, China, India, and the Philippines. Topics that will be discussed at TFMI 2011 include migration issues in India, labor migration, diaspora involvement, national identity, remittances, and multiculturalism. Participants will also attend leadership training sessions and go on site visits in the area around Trivandrum.
