Guillaume Xavier-Bender, program officer in GMF’s Brussels office sits down with Bruce Stokes, director of Global Economic Attitudes at the Pew Research Center to discuss the public’s opinion, the economic implications and the ultimate goal of a transatlantic economic partnership between the U.S. and the EU. A partnership of this magnitude would create a $30 trillion market between the two super powers that Stokes says the public is supportive of. If successful, Stokes says, the partnership would not only create common trade standards but it would encourage bilateral partners like Japan to increase trade with the U.S. and the EU.
