Welcome to Brussels Forum 2009

Craig KennedyOn behalf of the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) thank you for visiting the Brussels Forum website and participating in Brussels Forum virtually. Over the Brussels Forum weekend, a number of high-level policymakers, thinkers, and business leaders will tackle the pressing issues on the transatlantic agenda. The year’s Brussels Forum will show that the transatlantic relationship is as critical as ever as the major economies in Europe and North America contend with a strained economic situation and a volatile geopolitical one.

GMF is delighted to welcome as key partners in this initiative the Federal Authorities of Belgium and the Egmont Institute, the Government of the Czech Republic, and Daimler. We are also grateful to the Ministry of Defence Republic of Latvia, the Bertelsmann Stiftung, the Tipping Point Foundation, and Fortis Bank for their sponsorship. Finally, we would like to recognize the support of the European Commission, Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership (CGP), the Centre for European Studies, and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.

Please explore the website and join us virtually on March 20-22 as we explore topics such as the financial crisis, immigration, NATO, climate change, and many others. We will have live video and audio streaming of the events, and the entire files will be posted after the events are over.

Sincerely,

Craig Kennedy
President
