Chatham House has been the home of the Royal Institute of International Affairs for over eight decades. Our mission is to be a world-leading source of independent analysis, informed debate and influential ideas on how to build a prosperous, and secure world for all.
Chatham House pursues its mission by drawing on its membership to promote open as well as confidential debates about significant developments in international affairs and about the context and content of policy responses; by producing independent and rigorous analysis of critical global, regional, and country-specific challenges; and by offering new ideas to decision-makers and -shapers on how these could best be tackled from the near to long term.
Chatham House is a unique institution not only because of our long history as a world-leading source of independent foreign policy analysis, but also because of the benefit of being based in London at a time when the city has become the world’s first “global capital” and one of the world’s leading venues for the debate and communication of transnational politics.
