New Leadership for GMF's Berlin Office

May 5, 2015

Heike MacKerron

Daniela Schwarzer

After more than two decades at GMF, Heike MacKerron has decided to step down as director of the Berlin office on May 31. She has made significant contributions to GMF in Germany and beyond, and the organization would not be what it is today without her.

Dr. Daniela Schwarzer will assume the role of director of the Berlin Office on June 1. Schwarzer will continue to serve as senior director for research and director of the Europe Program. Sudha David-Wilp will serve as deputy director of the Berlin Office, in addition to her role as senior transatlantic fellow. Schwarzer and David-Wilp will provide seasoned leadership to GMF’s longest-standing European office going forward. GMF is dedicated to its core mission of strengthening transatlantic cooperation and has deep ties to Germany thanks to its history and the expertise of its staff. Given Germany's central role in Europe today, we are expanding and deepening our work on and with Germany, and Schwarzer and David-Wilp will be spearheading this effort.
