Discussion with Under Secretary Selig on U.S. Trade Policy
On October 23rd 2015, The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) hosted the Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, Stefan M. Selig from the U.S. Department of Commerce in Brussels. The roundtable discussion was moderated by Dr. Ian Lesser, senior director for Foreign and Security Policy, and executive director of GMF’s Brussels office. Following the signature of Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP); the TTIP process, ECJ’s Safe Harbour ruling and U.S.-Europe-China economic relations were some of the topics that were raised. Along with its economic aspect, Under Secretary Selig also underlined the transatlantic character of TTIP in line with the Atlantic Charter.
