European Defense Cooperation in a New Transatlantic Era
The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), in partnership with the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has created a new platform for dialogue among Europeans on the objectives, implementation, and format of European defense cooperation. The project aims to provide Swedish officials with key prospective insights to better grasp the political, economic, and strategic developments that are likely to reshape the dialogue on the future of the European defense, and to redefine the European balance of power, as to allow Swedish leaders for relevant adjustments.
The project is centered around a high-level workshop held in Stockholm with American and European defense experts and officials. The workshop will be divided into three sessions, each themed around a different aspect of potential European defense cooperation going forward, with the objectives of discussing the threats facing the continent, the formats for cooperation, and the capabilities needed.
This event is upon invitation only. If you have any questions, please contact Martin Quencez: MQuencez@gmfus.org
