The objective of this seminar is to bring to Paris a group of American and European experts and officials to foster a discussion on the future of European defense. The European project is under tremendous stress in the context of the Brexit negotiations, the multiple crises both from the East and the South, and the uncertain European policy of the Trump administration. These constraints may force European allies to consider what need to be preserved in priority. In parallel, a sense of optimism has emerged following the French and German elections, along with the current momentum for European defense supported by new initiatives from Brussels.
The GMF Transatlantic Security and the Future of NATO project brings together on a tri-annual basis, a group of around 25 high-level American and European security experts, strategic thinkers, policy-makers and representatives from the defense industry, to develop concrete and focused policy recommendations on transatlantic security issues.
This is an invitation-only event.
