The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) invites you to participate in a conversation with Bill Emmott and Robert Kagan to discuss resurgent nationalism and the decline of liberal democracies in the West, challenges Emmott addresses in his latest book, The Fate of the West: The Battle to Save the World’s Most Successful Political Idea (2017). As a part of GMF’s Future of American Power series, the discussion will focus on what can be done to strengthen the West and the principles of liberal democracy, while examining the impact of current trends on U.S. foreign policy and America’s role in the world.
