Transatlantic Security and the Future of NATO (TSTF)
The Transatlantic Security and the Future of NATO seminar will focus on “Transatlantic Defense Burden-Sharing after Brexit” and is organized in partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Airbus Group. The GMF Transatlantic Security and the Future of NATO project brings together a group of around 25 high-level American and European security experts, strategic thinkers, policy-makers and representatives from the defense industry on a tri-annual basis, to develop concrete and focused policy recommendations on transatlantic security issues. The seminar is dedicated to analyzing the implications of Brexit for European and Transatlantic Defense Cooperation. It particularly aims at better understanding how the UK's absence from the EU defense arena will affect current initiatives and future negotiations, whether bilateral, transatlantic or European, or create new opportunities and formats of cooperation.
Timeline: The seminar will begin with an off-the-record dinner with high-level French policymakers on the evening of Monday, June 4, followed by two panels and a thematic working lunch on the European Intervention Initiative, to take place on Tuesday, June.
