U.S. Strategic Priorities in the Trump Era: Implications for European Allies
The objective of this seminar, organized by CERI-Sciences Po with the support the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) and in partnership with GMF, is to bring high-level U.S. experts and officials to Paris, to discuss key U.S. foreign policy issues with French policymakers, scholars, academics, journalists and private sector representatives. The aim is to get a better understanding of the dynamics that guide U.S. foreign policy under the current administration, and to foster a transatlantic debate on issues of common interest for the U.S. and European allies.
In the first session, the speakers will discuss the reassessment of U.S. policies - including nuclear posture, diplomacy and the use of military force – and the challenges and opportunities for U.S. strategic interests in the coming years. The second session will be dedicated to the impact of this uncertainty for European allies, especially on EU common defense planning.
Registration is mandatory. To RSVP, or for any further information, please contact Jackson Webster at +33 1 47 23 48 12 or JWebster@gmfus.org .
