Constanze Picking


Constanze Picking joined GMF Brussels office as a non-resident senior fellow in October 2011. She joined GMF after 12 years at Daimler, most recently serving as director and chief EU lobbyist of the organization's EU Representative office in Brussels. Prior to this she was general manager of government affairs for Daimler's North East Asia office in Beijing, and senior manager for trade, e-business and transatlantic issues for DaimlerChrysler in Brussels. She also has experience in the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London, and has held academic posts at the College of Europe, as acting director of the Polish branch, and at Central European University in Prague where she was responsible for setting up a European studies programme.

Education: Ms. Picking holds a Master of Advanced European Economic Studies from the College of Europe, Bruges, and a Master of Arts in Political Science, Economics and History from Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich. In addition to her native German she is fluent in English and French and has a basic knowledge of Mandarin.
