Irregular Migration at Two Borders: The Turkish-EU and Mexican-U.S. CasesJune 06, 2010This policy paper has three aims. First, it demonstrates that the Mexico-U.S. and Turkey-EU borders can be analyzed and compared via two interrelated aspects of the recent politicization of the international migration systems: securitization and economization. Second, it shows that there is a lot of variance in perceptions of irregular migration. And third, it provides an overview of the research problems related to the issue of irregular migration.
