News media will be present at all conference events; however, confidentiality rules vary by session. Unless otherwise noted, all sessions will be held on the record. Several Night Owls, Breakfast Sessions, and Dinner Sessions will be held under the Chatham House Rule, which states:

“When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.”

In addition to traditional media, these rules apply to any blogging, tweeting, and other forms of social media that participants may take part in throughout the weekend. For those on Twitter, the conference hashtag will be #HISF, and GMF will be tweeting on @gmfus.

Interview requests from journalists should be submitted to the Welcome Desk upon arrival.
