Improving Electoral Processes in Romania and Moldova - Call for Applications 2019

 

Description

The Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation (BST) is launching a new call for applications for Civil Society Organizations, Universities, and Civic Groups from Romania and Moldova. The purpose of the call is to support civic initiatives meant to improve the electoral processes and allow citizens living within and outside the borders of their countries to exercise their voting rights.

Eligibility

Applicants must be civil society organizations, universities, legally registered either in Romania or Moldova, or civic groups from Romania or Moldova.

Projects working in the following areas would be especially appreciated:

  • Conducting advocacy campaigns to improve aspects related to the electoral process, especially the implementation of the electronic vote and vote by mail.
  • Improving technical and security aspects related to voter registration.
  • Raising awareness among Moldovan and Romanian citizens living within and/ or outside the borders of their countries regarding all aspects related to the voting process itself.

Projects should be exemplary, make use of innovative outreach means and have a realistic and economical budget calculation.

The average grant will be $24,999 USD.

Duration

The minimum duration of a project is 6 months and the maximum duration is 12 months.

Selection

The decision about selection and funding of projects with a budget maximum of $24,999 will be taken by the end of September 2019.

The decision about selection and funding of projects with a budget above $24,999 will be taken by mid-October 2019.
