Europe faces one of the most complex set of challenges in its recent history. However, despite the confluence of crises impacting the continent - including the refugee crisis, the eurozone sovereign debt crisis, and Russia's aggression against its neighbors - Germany remains a strong supporter of European solutions. How do Americans view Germany and its role in Europe? How have these perceptions changed in recent years? Have domestic politics in the United States impacted these views? With these questions in mind, the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) and the Embassy of Germany in the United States are pleased to invite you to a presentation and discussion on the latest survey conducted by Frank M. Magid Associates, Inc. for the Embassy of Germany on American attitudes and perceptions toward Germany. Magid’s Research and Strategy Director Andrew Hare will present the main findings of the report. Brookings Institution Senior Fellow Constanze Stelzenmüller and Transatlantic Academy Executive Director Stephen F. Szabo will then respond.
