Transatlantic Dialogue
GMF promotes dialogue on important global issues impacting Europe and the United States.  This includes convening policymakers and opinion leaders in a variety of forums to discuss and debate transatlantic topics.  These activities are conducted by both GMF and partner institutions.
Marshall Forum on Transatlantic Affairs

U.S.–EU Think Tank Symposium
On June 17 and 18, the fifth annual Think Tank Symposium, one of GMF's flagship events, convened this year in Washington, DC. Working with the support of the European Commission, the Think Tank Symposium brings together over 40 leading experts from both sides of the Atlantic to discuss issues of mutual concern.

Congress-Bundestag Forum
For five days, German and American lawmakers gathered in Berlin and Castle Elmau, Germany, to participate in the Congress-Bundestag Forum, where they renewed and deepened contacts with each other and discussed common transatlantic issues.

Transatlantic Journalists Forum
The German Marshall Fund (GMF) convenes an annual Transatlantic Journalists Forum (TJF) for journalists on both sides of the Atlantic to come together and discuss ideas and challenges surrounding a particular topic.

Young Leaders Conference in Tremezzo
Every year since 2001, the German Marshall Fund in cooperation with the Bertelsmann Foundation has convened the Transatlantic Conference for Young Leaders on the shores of Lake Como in Tremezzo, Italy.

Bellagio Dialogue on Migration
The Bellagio dialogue was a one-month program of workshops, fellowships, and cultural activities dedicated to addressing the challenges that international migration poses to the United States and Europe. By bringing together European and American policymakers, scholars, and community-based practitioners working on migration issues, the program seeked to identify and then share innovative solutions to economic, social, and security issues facing migrants and their host countries. It also looked at the opportunities for migration to contribute to economic development in high emigration countries.
