John Alexander is a program assistant supporting GMF’s Strategic Partnerships team in Washington, DC. His portfolio includes technology policy and supporting the programming of GMF’s civil society work in Washington. Prior to GMF, John lived in Europe for four years, working for the Kosciuszko Institute to develop a cybersecurity conference in Poland, as well as working in app store operations as a content reviewer. He was also an intern on the Atlantic Council’s Cyber Statecraft Initiative. He holds master’s degrees from Jagiellonian University in European Studies and from the University of Glasgow in Russian, Central and East European Studies (IMRCEES), as well as a bachelor’s degree in Latin Literature and Russian from the University of Georgia. In addition to English, he knows Polish, Russian, and some Farsi.
