Kadri Tastan is a senior fellow in GMF’s Brussels office. His research focuses on Turkey–EU relations, Turkey’s relationship with transatlantic partners, EU Enlargement, and trade. Prior to joining GMF, Kadri was an expert on European affairs and environmental issues at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), business organization representing all sectors of economic activity, in Turkey. Alongside the advocacy role of the European affairs, energy, and environmental issues at TOBB, from 2013 to 2015, Kadri was an adjunct professor teaching economics at the TOBB University of Economics and Technology in the of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
He holds a PhD in economics and European studies from the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris III, an MSc in international relations from University of Panthéon Assas-Paris II, an MSc in economics from the University of Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV and an BA in economics from Ankara University. Tastan has also been a researcher at the Centre for Studies in International Development and Economic and Social Movements (CEDIMES) in Paris during the preparation of his PhD.
He speaks fluent French and English in addition to his natives Turkish and Kurdish, and has basic knowledge of Persian.
