Luca Di Preso is the 2017–2018 European Parliament Fellow with GMF’s Europe Program, based in Washington, DC. He is a senior policy advisor in the Secretariat of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.
Before moving to Washington, DC, Luca followed developments in the Middle East, with particular reference to the Middle East Peace Process and EU–Turkey relations in the context of negotiations on Turkey’s accession process to the EU. From September 2015 until August 2017, Luca was European Parliament liaison officer with the U.S. Congress. Prior to his work in Brussels and Washington DC, Luca worked as legal counsel in the Legal Service of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
His areas of interest at GMF cover the core structures and competences as regards sanctions policy in the United States and, more broadly, transatlantic relations and developments at European Union level.
