Balancing the generation-demand gap

“At the exact same time that we want to use electricity, a power station has to generate the precise quantity of energy to meet that need.  The process of supplying electricity is like a ‘tug of war’ in which the power generation of the power plants are constantly responding to the ‘pull’ of the consumers.  This requires a constant balance between the production and the consumption of electricity.  In this video, Red Electrica, responsible for guaranteeing this balance, explains how this is achieved.
