Transatlantic Forum on Migration and Integration – Trivandrum, IndiaOctober 17, 2011The fourth Transatlantic Forum on Migration and Integration (TFMI) was held from October 17-21 in Trivandrum, India. Established in 2008, the annual conference organized by the German Marshall Fund and the Robert Bosch Stiftung has served as the basis for a sustainable network of young leaders in the field of migration and intergration, with year-round spin-off projects - including study tours, regional meetings, and academic and professional exchanges - taking place all over the world.
TFMI Spin-Off Project: Symposium on Religious Discrimination around EuropeSeptember 23, 2011On September 16, a spin-off project of the Transatlantic Forum on Migration and Integration (TFMI), co-sponsored by GMF and the Robert Bosch Stiftung, was held in Paris. Organized in partnership with the French Defender of Rights and the Faculty of Law of Lille Catholic University, the symposium aimed to exchange information, raise transnational knowledge, and share good practices on the topic of religious discrimination around Europe, and eventually develop public policy against religious discrimination.

On February 3, the Immigration and Integration Program at GMF held a rollout event of the 2010 Transatlantic Trends: Immigration survey at the National Press Club. On September 29, GMF’s Immigration and Integration program released the findings for its Transatlantic Study Team on Climate-Induced Migration. Study Team co-chairs Susan Martin and Koko Warner led the presentation of their findings which focused on four principle issues: the impact of climate change on migration patterns and trends; adaption strategies; emergency displacement; and migration policies and frameworks.
