Balkan Trust for Democracy Given Award of Excellence From USAID’s Global Development AllianceNovember 17, 2005 / Nicholas Siegel The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) today presented the Balkan Trust for Democracy with the 2005 Global Development Alliance Excellence Award.  The award recognizes the innovative public-private partnership model created by the Balkan Trust for Democracy (BTD) which promotes and strengthens citizen involvement in democracy building, and supports cross-border collaboration throughout Southeastern Europe.  Specifically the award recognizes founding BTD partners with USAID — the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
