Explore the Impact of the Immigration Crisis Firsthand this Fall in Greece and Italy

October 8, 2015

Filip Vojvodic-Medic

Deputy Director, Leadership Programs

Irregular migration flows into Europe has become a major political issue this summer. While Greece is currently experiencing a surge of refugees from Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, Italy has been dealing with a steady influx of irregular migrants from North Africa for four decades now. Both are requesting a European approach to the issue. To find out more about the nature of irregular migration in each of these countries and possible solutions, join GMF’s Transatlantic Leadership Seminar – Leading through the Great Recession from November 1 to 7 for just $2,500 and engage leaders with practical experience in dealing with irregular migration in Athens and Rome. The seminar will feature the following speakers on immigration issues:

Colonel Giuseppe Battaglia, Head of International Cooperation Office, Carabinieri
Giulia Falzoi, Deputy Director, International Organization for Migration, Rome
Ioanna Pertsinidou, Project Manager, Praxis
Dina Vardaramatou, Coordinator of the Medical Center, Athens, Praxis

GMF’s Transatlantic Leadership Seminars enable leaders from business, government, and civil society to manage the rapidly changing operational environment of the 21st century. They offer lessons on how to lead with agility, deal with complexity, and reduce uncertainty, as well as respond to specific contemporary challenges. Each seminar lasts seven to nine days, is expert led, and takes place in a region in flux. Participants engage more than 40 leaders in open, frank, and dynamic conversations and benefit from first-hand experience and group reflection. Transatlantic Leadership Seminars are exclusive to alumni GMF's Transatlantic Leadership Initiatives.
