Household Incomes in the District Rise Dramatically in 2017
Geraldine Gardner, director of urban and regional policy at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, sees the bump [in household incomes in Washington, DC] as the result of long-term urban policy planning under several mayors coming to fruition. The effects, she said, can be seen in neighborhoods, schools, and transportation.
“The District’s really hit its stride,” she said. “It is increasing its reputation nationally and globally as an interesting place to live, work and play.”
