How Trump Could Benefit from the Crisis

Vice President, Berlin OfficeLately, Donald Trump was in a rearguard action. Paradoxically, the political crisis following the death of George Floyd could lead to his reelection.
With all the smoke and gloomy premonitions hanging over the United States, the question arises whether this is still the same country that twice elected Barack Obama as president; the country that helped a rainbow coalition of people of all origins and skin colors to achieve a majority; the country that, despite all its shortcomings and fatal setbacks, has achieved visible successes in trying to live the principle of equality of the constitution on a daily basis and in everyday life.
When Obama first spoke out on the riots in a video this week, he was immediately back, the belief in the future that infected a majority of Americans after 2008. Obama speaks of the hope that the mass mobilization of these days gives rise to the social "awakening", especially among young people, that can be observed. Even in the midst of all the turmoil, Obama is confident that the United States "will be a better country in the end".
