New Dictator Badly Wanted
After Islam Karimov, president of Uzbekistan for more then two decades, died last week Central Asia is in a political stupor. The fight for Karimov's heir may break out in the country that is often perceived as a gendarme of stability in the region. Global powers including Russia, China, and the United States are closely observing the developments in Central Asia hoping for preserving the status quo.
