On December 15, 2015, The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) in Brussels hosted Dr. Minxin Pei, non-resident senior fellow with GMF’s Asia program, for a seminar on the drivers and scenarios of a democratic transition in China in the coming 15 years. Dr. Pei presented the initial research findings of his report, which will be published with GMF in the coming months, and the seminar was part of a wider European event series on the topic. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Ian Lesser, senior director for Foreign and Security Policy, and executive director of GMF’s Brussels office, and the audience was comprised of Brussels-based China experts, including policymakers, diplomats, and scholars.
