The thirteenth edition of the India Trilateral Forum took place in Stockholm, Sweden on September 15-16, 2017. The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, and the Observer Research Foundation convened the forum with additional support provided by Foundation Asset Management AB and Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA). Participants in the forum this year included government officials, journalists, scholars, and businesspeople from the United States, India, and Europe.

Discussions, which were held under the Chatham House Rule, focused on recent political developments in India, Europe, and the United States, China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and its regional and global implications, investing in innovation, building human capital in Asia, Afghanistan, Iran, and West Asia, the rise of China and Russia and the future of Europe
