Japan Trilateral Forum, Brussels: 2nd Edition
The second iteration of the Japan Trilateral Forum, an initiative of the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) and the Japanese Mission to the European Union, was held March 1-2, 2016 in Brussels. The forum brought together more than 60 leading experts from the U.S., EU and Japan for an interactive discussion on a range of economic, foreign policy, and security issues.
Guided by a globally-oriented and topical agenda, discussions addressed themes ranging from the impact of China’s economic policies and initiatives to regional developments in Central and Southeast Asia to the three partners’ Russia policy. The Forum took place at the same time as the 15th round of the Japan-EU EPA negotiations and GMF was honored to host the chief negotiators, Ambassador Koji Haneda and Mauro Petriccione for a conversation on this critical issue. A list of participants and the agenda can be found on the right side of the page.
