Speaker

  • Julius Krein, Founder and Editor of American Affairs Journal

Moderator

  • Martin Quencez, Deputy Director, Paris Office; Research Fellow, Security and Defense

As the United States will officially enter into the campaign season for the 2020 presidential election, Julius Krein will share his views on the key themes that will define the campaign debates and address the transformation undergone by the Republican Party since Donald Trump came to power.

Is "Trumpism" a temporary or a long-term phenomenon? Has Trump changed the Republican Party for good? Is Trump setting new trends into motion or taking advantage of existing trends? Are cultural divisions feeding into the U.S. internal debate more than anything else? Finally, Julius will also discuss whether President Trump’s Foreign Policy moves are part of a greater international strategy and, if so, how this strategy may redefine the traditional architecture of transatlantic relations in the years to come.

Private invitation and off the record.
