Transatlantic Security Task Force Scenario Exercise: Transatlantic Security Cooperation Towards 2020
GMF Paris, as part of its tri-annual TSTF workshop, will bring together a group of around 25 high-level American and European security experts, strategic thinkers, policymakers, and representatives from the defense industry, to develop concrete and specific policy recommendations on transatlantic security issues in Berlin on November 28-29, 2018.
Through creative yet realistic scenarios, this session is designed to foster innovative dialogue between small groups of participants in an interactive and practice-oriented manner. Conducive to the emergence of new sets of ideas, the technique aims to generate a range of credible scenarios and issues for transatlantic actors based on what the international environment might look like in the future. Going beyond the operational responses typically considered in a war-game, it helps participants imagine, from a long-term perspective, the strategic, political, social, economic and environmental trends that will influence the future of transatlantic security cooperation.
The event will begin on Wednesday, November 28 with a Transatlantic Dinner from 7:30-9:30pm at the residence of the Ambassador of France in Germany. Thursday, November 29,. will feature a welcome coffee, three scenario-based working sessions, a lunch and a discussion, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
