Panelists

  • Karen Tumlin, Founder and Director of the Justice Action Center & GMF Marshall Memorial Fellow 2016
  • Julián Escutia Rodríguez, Director General for Protection of Mexicans Abroad of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Moderator

  • Astrid Ziebarth, Senior Migration Fellow and Head of Strategy in GMF's Europe Program

To fight the spread of the coronavirus and to protect the U.S. economy, President Trump intends to curtail immigration into the United States. Five months before the election, Trump's actions will join the ranks of his many measures to tamp down on immigration. At this Transatlantic Tuesday, we will evaluate the recent developments in U.S. migration politics, look at the current situation at the U.S-Mexican border, and discuss how Trump's latest measures fit into his fight against the coronavirus and into his campaign strategy.

Grab a coffee and a donut and join us for a lively discussion - online!
