Emiliano Alessandri is a transatlantic affairs expert, with a focus on European and Mediterranean security. Since 2013, he has covered Mediterranean and migration affairs for the OSCE Secretary General. Between 2017-present, he has been a visiting professor at the College of Europe in Bruges. He is a visiting scholar with the Middle East Institute in Washington. 

Alessandri was a resident senior transatlantic fellow with GMF between 2010-2013, working on Mediterranean affairs and Turkey. Previously, he held research positions with the Institute of International Affairs (IAI) of Rome and the Center on the U.S. and Europe (CUSE) at the Brookings Institution. Alessandri is scientific board member of the NATO Defense College Foundation and is an editorial board member of the International Spectator. He holds a PhD in international history from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s degree in international economics and U.S. foreign policy from the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
