Bundestag Breakfast Discussion: “Coordinating Transatlantic Interests: The contest for supremacy in Asia” January 24, 2012 / Berlin, GermanyOn January 19, the German Marshall Fund in Berlin organized a breakfast discussion at the German Bundestag on “Coordinating Transatlantic Interests: The contest for supremacy in Asia”. Aaron Friedberg, Princeton University Professor of Politics and International Affairs and Non-Resident Senior Fellow with GMF, briefed senior members of the German Bundestag and representatives of local embassies on current U.S. policy in Asia, notably towards China. Participants debated how to coordinate transatlantic interests in the region and how the relationship with China could be shaped more strategically in the future. Sarah Raine, Transatlantic Fellow in GMF’s Asia program, moderated the discussion.
